the idea of being allowed to complain- is expanded in the Peninei Daas by Reb Elya Meir Bloch ztz"l - we also see that in megillas Rus- Noami says call me Mara- she does not say gam zu litova- she complained- accepted Hashems will and moved on to bring dynasty of Moshiach to the world

I think all this pressure of vacationing depends in which circle you live and the kids learn. We dont have this pressure at all BH . We go away once a year in summer and that is super for the whole year.
